Why not join us? - come and enjoy yourself
From the Leaders who plan and run the weekly programme for the different sections, to the parents and local people who give up some time to support the Group though our Executive Committee - all of them are volunteers!
For this reason, we are always keen to find new volunteers, so that we can continue to deliver exciting and challenging programmes of activities to young people in and around Wedmore.
Whether you are able to commit to coming every week as a Leader, or just able to help out occasionally, please get in touch with one of our Section Leaders, or our Group Scout Leader. Perhaps you have a particular skill or hobby that you think may be of interest to the Beavers, Cubs or Scouts? Or perhaps you'd like to assist with supporting the group by organising fund raising events? We'd love to hear from you.

You may feel that you have no skills to offer Scouting - but everyone has something to give. If you don't have time in the evenings when the sections meet you could use your work or hobby skills to help out. Helping in this way does not involve any responsibility for the management of the Section. If you can't manage this, there is always need for ad-hoc support on specific occasions; fund-raising events, repairing equipment and so on.
On the other hand, you may have special skills, so that you can be a Skills Instructors to provide more specialised support, for climbing, caving, etc - or even become a Leader
A quick word from our Chief Scout...
"One of my big missions is to encourage people across the UK who have the time, enthusiasm and ability, whatever it is, to put something back into their communities. It's about a lot of people doing a little. I don't want to hear any more about kids who can't join because of a lack of leaders.
We’ve got a brilliant, talented nation and I want some of that talent to be used to support young people."
